Special Stuff

The gun of Jan Billeb, Executive Director of the American Custom Gunmakers Guild. This superb specimen of guncraft representing the renowned talents of America's greatest gunmakers was presented to Jan for her years of dedicated work on behalf of the association. Caliber is 7x57 Mauser. The engraving on Jan's splendid rifle, namely the Conetrol rings, was the handiwork of Terry Wallace.

CONETROL SPECIAL FINISHING

Except for the Huntur grade, all Conetrol bases and rings are available with special finishes. Cost is the same as regular if customer takes them in the white. If blued, their cost is 50% more. Custum bases with their streamlined contouring, for instance, are available with matte finish for the usual $99.96 if not blued and for $149.94 if blued.

SPECIAL COMBINATIONS

A base not normally packaged as a standard two-piece base is available at 1 1/2 times the regular cost. For instance, if the customer needs the front segment for one rifle and the rear segment for another in order to fit, say, a gun he has had special-made, and he wants a Gunnur finish, his cost would be $127.44 (1 1/2 times $84.96, the regular cost of a Gunnur base).

For only one segment of a two-piece base, the cost is 75% of the price of a complete base.

OUT-OF-THE-BIN PURCHASES

Customers who have modification in mind and would like to acquire bases just as they come off our machines may do so for 75% of the cost of Huntur bases, our lowest-priced style. Such "bin" bases, of course, are fully machined but unfinished, with visible burrs and machining marks. All screws are provided.

Lowest cost of all are our Semi-Machined bases, which are simply machinable rectangular blocks 3/4" wide and 1/2" high that accept Conetrol rings. They must be shaped to fit the firearm involved, and attachment screw holes must be drilled. The price is $42.48 for either the one- or two-piece type, with all screws provided.

NOTE: Conetrol rings are only available finished, as a very special expertise is required to ensure precise fit of ring cap to ring halves. They may be acquired unblued, however, at regular cost.
